About School's Out Penicuik
We opened in 2021 and moved to our current home North Kirk Hall at the start of 2022. After only 3 months we had increased our numbers to the maximum capacity - 34 children.
February 2023 saw the unexpected closure of the neighbouring OOSC, this childcare crisis resulted in us opening a satellite service in record time within the community room situated of Strathesk Primary school.
We run one caring, community-rooted club across two convenient locations in Penicuik, making it easier for families to access flexible, high quality childcare.
As the largest town in Midlothian we are acutely aware that our current capacity of 72 does not meet the high demand, We continue to seek larger spaces in the local area to better suit our needs, however the spaces we currently used are utilised to their full ensuring children can play safely in a welcoming and friendly environment.
Meet Penicuik's Manager - Elaine
Elaine is our peripatetic Manager of our two Penicuik clubs. Elaine has been involved in the set-up, delivery and lead in school aged childcare since we began. With a degree in Sport Science and now in the final months of completing her PDA Level 9 Childcare Practice & Leadership qualification, Elaine has a wealth of knowledge and understands the importance of a safe, fun and nurturing environment. With a friendly, approachable and solution focused attitude, Elaine is an integral leader of the team.
